The have looked like one of the East’s best teams so far this season, but the smart bet on Tuesday against Oklahoma City might be the Thunder getting the five points on WagerWeb.com.

That’s because Miami could be without two starters. After missing Saturday’s victory against the Nets with a bruised hip, center Jermaine O’Neal said Monday he would play tonight  against Oklahoma City. Point guard Mario Chalmers remains uncertain about his status after he sustained a pinched nerve in his right shoulder in the first quarter of Saturday’s game.

“Mario says he’s gonna play, but we’ll just have to see how he feels,” coach Erik Spoelstra said. “They’re going to do some more exercises. He’s got more movement in it.”

O’Neal practiced Monday, so it does appear he will play. Chalmers didn’t, so backup Carlos Arroyo, who played a season-high 37 minutes Saturday, likely will start at point guard; Arroyo contributed seven points, four assists and three rebounds against New Jersey. The Heat did beat the Nets without Chalmers and O’Neal but shot a season-low 39 percent against a bad team. Plus they got 28 points from Udonis Haslem, and that’s not going to happen maybe ever again.

Playing under the WagerWeb.com total of 179.5 might be a smart play as well as both teams rank among the top six teams in fewest points given up, defensive field-goal percentage and defensive three-point field-goal percentage. Miami is 6-0 when giving up below 90 points.

The Thunder enter off a loss to the Clippers on Sunday when Kevin Durant scored 40 points. Durant (28.1 points per game) is right behind Miami’s Dwyane Wade (29.7) among the league’s top five scorers. Durant has averaged 18.0 points on 36.4 percent shooting in two games in Miami in his career.
