Get it straight, Michigan is not a good team this season and even though this has been a good rivalry over the last decade or so, this is a total mismatch. They’ve already played once this year, a game in which Wisconsin grabbed a 16 point victory. The bad news for Michigan is that Wisconsin just keeps getting better. They are winning their home games by an average of almost 17 points and the majority of those games have been against tougher opponents than Michigan. To put things into perspective, Michigan is a combined 8-22 in their last 30 games against the spread. So what does this mean? It means that the books are playing on the fact that people think Michigan is a good team simply based on their name, their tradition. It’s all about perception. This line is very high, but it isn’t high enough based on the actual stats. This line should be 20+ but Michigan gets courtesy points on the name alone.
